About Me
My name is Ruth and I am in my late twenties. I am married and have
two young children from a previous marriage. I live and work in Blackpool.
I am qualified as a counsellor and I am a member of BACP (British Association of
Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work to their code of ethics. I am also a member of CCYP (Counselling Children
&Young People). I have a BA(hons) degree and a Diploma in Counselling with over four years of counselling
experience.
I have a current CRB and a First Aid Certificate.
I worked as a youth leader for about 6 years in total so I understand the difficulties
and pressures that young people face today with family breakdown, alcoholism, drugs, sex and relationships. I have
worked with young people who have eating disorders, who are depressed, who have suffered sexual abuse and who have
self-harmed.
I also understand and can relate to the pressures of daily living for those in their
twenties and thirties as this is the life stage I am at. I have worked with issues such as financial struggles,
marriage and divorce, parenting struggles, spirituality and bereavement.
