My name is Ruth and I am in my late twenties. I am married and have two young children from a previous marriage.
I am qualified as a counsellor and I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and work to their code of ethics. I have over three years of counselling experience.
I work part time as a youth leader for 10-16 year olds so I understand the difficulties and pressures that young people face today with family breakdown, alcoholism, drugs, sex and relationships. I have worked with young people who have eating disorders, who are depressed, who have suffered sexual abuse and who have self-harmed.
I also understand and can relate to the pressures of daily living for those in their twenties and thirties as this is the life stage I am at. I have worked with issues such as financial struggles, marriage and divorce, parenting struggles including single parenting, spirituality and bereavement.
I live and work in Blackpool and I am a member of Blackpool Christian Fellowship where I attend church. Although I am a Christian I have been trained in and practice secular counselling. I will only talk about God and spirituality if it is something you want to talk about. |
